This extra power back then came from a over boost function and upgraded turbocharger turbines, along with revised valve timing, new exhaust valves, different camshafts, higher-efficiency radiators, and a reprogrammed control unit. While the new S8 Plus shares the same 605-hp engine, it focuses more on refinement compared to the more exhilarating RS7. As you'd expect, the RS7 Performance offers relentless thrust, ensuring you can't help but smile during high-speed overtakes and full-throttle sprints from stoplights. Navigating sweeping on-ramps is equally exhilarating, thanks to the beautifully designed perforated steering wheel that provides excellent feedback from the meaty front tires. The eight-speed automatic transmission, remapped for this performance variant, eagerly responds to your commands.
